Equine bodywork for your heart horse
Integrated bodywork therapies for our equine partners.
Integrated bodywork therapies for our equine partners.
Helping to keep your horse flexible, relaxed, and ready to fulfill their potential is my mission. Equine bodywork is for all horses, regardless of their age and discipline. I have clients who are actively showing, recreational riders, caring for aging & retired horses, as well as developing young horses.
I'm often called to assist with specific issues. Horses can't verbally tell us exactly what's bothering them, so it's important to evaluate for signs of discomfort or restrictions.
Does your horse do any of the following?
What about other events that could be potential causes of muscle/fascial restriction?
As always, it's imperative to have a Veterinarian diagnose your horse and work within the parameters set by their treatment protocol. Please check with your Veterinarian prior to having bodywork done, especially after an injury or illness.
We'll discuss any concerns you have about your horse, past injuries, any veterinary or chiropractic treatment plans your horse in undergoing, and I will take a brief history.
If possible, please do not apply fly spray, grooming spray, etc to your horse prior to the session.
Bodywork can be completed anywhere that is comfortable and safe for your horse. Some horses prefer their stall, others like to be in an aisle or wash rack. If the weather is nice and your horse is comfortable, I can complete the session outdoors. It's best to avoid high traffic areas in the barn, and if possible, schedule around feeding times.
It is my goal to create a relaxed session. If an owner is on-site they may choose to hold the horse. However, if I'm working in a stall, I will usually use a halter and lead rope to adjust the horse's position.
We'll make adjustments as needed, based on your horse's personality and comfort, as well as safety for everyone involved.
Each session is tailored to the individual horse and its needs. I will actively connect with and listen to your horse, adjusting my methods as the session progresses.
I book 60 or 90 minute bodywork sessions.
A 60 minute session typically includes:
In a 90 minute equine bodywork session I will have more time to use multiple modalities.
Such as:
Available as an add on:
I typically recommend that your horse avoid ridden work or heavy exercise for 24-48 hours after a session.
Within 24 hours you will be emailed an electronic report detailing the session and areas where restrictions were found.
You can pay via check, cash, Venmo, or PayPal. Payment is expected at the time of service and an invoice will be sent out for your records.
Each session is catered to your horse's needs - 60 and 90 minute sessions are available. Typically there is no travel fee if you're less than 30 miles from Salvis, KY.
Further than 30 miles from Salvisa? Scheduling 3 or more horses, or being added to my already scheduled routes, can reduce or eliminate a trip fee.
